Captivated by Love

The word of God admonished us as His children to love the lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to also love our neighbour as loveeourselves. We are commanded to love God passionately and be captivated by his love. If we can understand his love, so many things would fall in place in our lives. God’s thoughts towards us are deep, giving us a future, hope, and an expected end.  His love is not an ordinary love; it is unconditional with no strings attached.

God is love and that he loves you is not just a cliché. I want you to believe in the love that God has for you with deep conviction; be rooted and have confidence in it .You should trust in his love even when you feel unloved or unworthy; believe and receive his love that was made available to you through the blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross for you. When doubt sets into your heart about God’s love for you, don’t allow it, just hold on to God’s love. Whenever you are tired, burdened and don’t feel loved or feel like loving, just ask the Holy Spirit to help you love God passionately. Sing love songs to God! Yes, the songs might not sound well to you because you think you don’t have a sonorous voice; just minister to him all the same because he enjoys your worship. God’s food is worship, he loves to be adored. Tell him, “God I love you, help me to love you more and let your love be perfected in me”.

When you think deeply about his love it will give you grace and strength to love others. If you refuse to love people, you are yielding to the flesh and not to God. Ask the lord to help you love the way he loves. Ask God for the grace to love your spouse even when he or she is unlovable, also to train and nurture your children in love.

love2Idolatry is one of the greatest sins against God because he doesn’t want us to have another god besides him. Many times we do not know we have other gods in our hearts; it could be money, jewellery, shoes, clothes, our face, our body and some other things we have entrenched in our hearts. Such attitudes communicates to God that he is not our number one or priority despite the fact that we say and sing that we love him. When in love with someone, you pay attention to the person and the relationship grows, you should also pay attention to your relationship with God.

Check your motives, whatever you do to serve God should be out of love. Don’t complain about what you do for him; see it as a privilege to serve him. If you grumble when serving God, it is a pointer to the fact that your love for him is waxing cold. Ask him to take you back to where you first loved and received him.

Finally, I want you to make a decision this week to love God forever. Walk with him, commune with him and also take your strength and identity from him. I encourage you to go on a new level in your love walk with God and he will also lavish his love upon you.

God loves you.

Two little foxes

A great man once said “Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, while our vineyards are in blossom.” There are many things the devil uses to distabilize us as women to get us off the right course but I will discuss just two. It’s amazing that regardless of our gender, status and position in life we often allow these two little foxes to ruin our blooming vineyard.

The foxes are as follows:

fearFear– Someone said that fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. The enemy uses fear to stop us from doing what God has asked us to do and stop us from fulfilling our destiny. One of my favourite personalities in the bible is Esther, she had a deadline to either help her people or perish along with them. Fear knocked on her heart heavily but she did not give in to it, she made a decision, she broke the jinx of fear because she trusted in God who placed her as a queen in the palace for that particular purpose.

Lack of revelation brings fear. Esther got a revelation from God, she knew the steps to take and what direction to go and she took action. We all experience fear sometimes in our life, but we must not give in to it, we must meditate on God’s word and rise up, knowing that with God on our side, we can make a lasting impact just like Esther did.

Even in the face of fear, go forth! Confront and do whatever God has laid upon your heart to do. The bible says the righteous are as bold as a Lion, so be bold and courageous for God is with you. We serve a big God and remember that when he sends you he will always back you up. Don’t allow fear to cripple your heart, don’t let it stop you from becoming who God has destined you to be, confront it and you will overcome.

self esteemLow self esteem- This is a major thing that plagues women all over the world. Low self esteem makes women to be at ease and say ‘well, I see all that is going on and I know it’s not for people like us’. As women we must have a proper self esteem. You can develop or build your esteem by reading the word of God to know what he has said concerning you. Low self esteem makes you think you are not valued, but God says that you are valued. He loves you and created you for a purpose, so value yourself the way God values you and see yourself the way God sees you.

Ensure to guard your heart with all diligence because everything starts from there. God has not given you the spirit of fear but of love and a sound mind. He also said you are wonderful and fearfully made. Meditate on God’s word always and believe you can do whatever he commands you to do.

This week, be bold as a lion and confront your fears. Believe that you are special because you are created in God’s image and he loves you.
