As the saying goes, “when you fail to plan, you have planned to fail.” We can’t really attain greatness if we are not organised. It is so important to plan because in the day and age that we are in, we have so much to do at any given time and it could be very overwhelming if we don’t learn proper organisation. When we fail to plan, we find out that at the end of the day, we don’t get much done as we really want to. Luke 14:28, talks about counting the cost before building the house. It is so important for you to plan and take stock of what you are about to do.
I had the opportunity of reading an article in a magazine about Mother Theresa’s life. I found out that this woman was highly organised. She built a very impactful, effective system and organisation that has continued even after her death. In the article, they revealed some details about her life and I could see that she was a very organised and detailed person. When we talk of being organised, we are talking about someone that organises oneself, the person has a to do list, plans and attaches timelines to the various things that he/she wants to do. If we don’t do that, we will find out that at the end of the day, week, and month, we would not have achieved much. Don’t be someone who has a ‘to do list’ and never looks at it, and the day you stumble on it, it is like ‘oh my’ I have hardly done anything at all. A lot of interruptions come into your days through phone calls, SMS, emails but when you are organised and plan for the day, you would be able to minimise all the interruptions
To understand the importance of organisation, time planning is needful, because time doesn’t wait for anyone and it keeps on ticking. As such we have to maximise our time. Our ability to achieve anything great in life requires us to be disciplined with what we do with our time. Being organised is something you can learn, it doesn’t just fall on you and it doesn’t just come naturally, you have to work at it till it becomes part of you. Begin by writing down what you need to do or problems you need to solve so you won’t get lost in the process. Tackle the problems that influence your daily life and focus on finding solutions to them.
When we fail to plan it affects our emotional life because we can get stressed between activities. Take a few minutes to meditate and be at peace within, don’t rush at things, relax and take time to plan. You cannot be productive or achieve your goal if you are involved in several activities. Focus on one thing at a time.
This week I want to encourage you to plan daily so that no area of your life suffers. Make sure that you stay organised.
You will succeed in Jesus name. Amen.
In His love
