Faith In God

The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God, this means that you should not expect to receive anything from God without faith in Him and His word.

Your faith may be as small as a mustard seed, but it can still cause God to act on your behalf or give you whatever you need. Jesus told His disciples that with even very little faith, we can move mountains and achieve the seemingly impossible.

Jesus was amazed by the persistent faith of Bartimaeus who persistently called out to Jesus till he got his healing. The Canaanite woman who was willing to ‘settle for the crumbs’ just to see her demon-possessed daughter healed.

In the Old Testament, Abraham and his wife were promised a son and they waited for many years before the promise came to pass. Abraham’s faith and absolute obedience even to the instruction to sacrifice Issac amazed and delighted God. So much so that God swore by Himself and pronounced blessings upon Abraham and his descendants forever. God also declared Abraham righteous because he believed Him (Romans 4:3).

Zechariah and Elizabeth also released their faith in service to God and He fulfilled His promise to them by giving them John the Baptist.

When we believe God and His Word, we give Him great joy. Live a life of faith in God. What has God promised you? Hold on to the promise to the end. Have faith and don’t be moved by what people say or what your situation is saying to you right now.

A woman in the Bible who expressed radical faith was the woman with the issue of blood. She interrupted Jesus’ itinerary for that day because she was originally not on His “to-do list”. He was actually on the way to heal Jairus’ daughter but He allowed the interruption and she received her miracle (Mark 5:25-34). She came behind Jesus in the crowd and touched the hem of His garment. She said to herself, “if only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well”. As she strove to touch Jesus, she was speaking to herself.

This is important because you need to check what you are saying to yourself. What are you saying to yourself? What are you allowing people to say to you? It is important you pay attention to your thoughts and words, they carry creative power.
This woman KNEW that if she could just touch His garment, she would be made whole. For her, it wasn’t a matter of chance; she knew it was her season that day because she had heard that Jesus was able to heal her.

The story continues that she had suffered many things from physicians but instead of getting better, she got worse. I don’t know what cycles you have not been able to break or maybe it is a negative circumstance that clings to you. You may have tried everything you know, maybe your health has failed or is failing or you are always falling into sin.

Whatever it is, it is time for you to have faith in God. It is time for you to experience a turnaround in your life. Be like this woman and say to yourself, “it’s either God or nobody else”. I will touch God today by having faith in Him.

Finally, Jesus asked that when He returns, would He find faith upon the earth? Many times it is when we have come to the end of the road that we demonstrate our faith in God.
Don’t wait till you are at the end of your rope to express aggressive faith.

Say to yourself daily, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”!, Draw strength from Him to do all He has purposed for you to do.

Do not worry because when you worry, it means you do not truly believe God is able to help you.

I encourage you, have faith in Him. Do not doubt His promise to you..

Hold On To Your Dreams..

Joseph in the Bible was a young man who knew he had a great future and destiny. It wasn’t because he was proud, nor was he overly ambitious. God revealed to Joseph that he would one day occupy a position of authority and he communicated this with excitement to his family.

When you have a clear picture of your purpose in God, you will not be in competition with other people. Joseph’s brothers were envious of his dreams and he was sold into slavery yet the Bible records that he prospered as a slave.

The negative circumstances Joseph found himself did not change what God had designed for him and he succeeded at all he did. When Pharaoh had a dream, Joseph was recommended because he had been using his gift of dream-interpretation to better the lives of others in the prison.

What will others say about your influence in their lives? Can people recommend you? Work on your character and reputation because you never know where your name will be mentioned hopefully for good.

When the king sent for Joseph, he quickly shaved and dressed up because he knew that he would stand before a great man for an interview, he didn’t go to the palace in prison clothes. He changed his appearance and made himself presentable and like-able.

Develop your skills, practice what you have learnt and prepare to make the best of your opportunity when it comes.  Joseph passed the interview because he prepared for it and Pharaoh promoted him and gave him a new status.

Do you have a dream, something you are holding on to in line with your purpose and God’s promises? Hold on to your God-given dream; don’t derail, don’t give up or go with the popular flow.

Joseph was faced with many temptations but he had God and purpose in mind so he refused to have sex with Potiphar’s wife. She lied against him and he was sent to prison, still he continued to be righteous.  Flee every appearance of evil when tempted.

Talk to the Lord when you are faced with temptation, have role models and accountability partners that you can talk to anytime.

Finally, I want you to know that you are not alone on this journey, God is with you.

Joseph held on to God’s love, that was why he could forgive his brothers for what they did to him. We have to trust God and still love people no matter what we have been through.

God can change any situation or circumstance, he is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think.

I pray for grace and strength for you as you go on this weekend in Jesus name.

You And Your Self-Esteem – Part 2

Many people suffer from poor self esteem and it is a major hindrance to living an amazing life. A low self esteem and a fearful heart will prevent us from walking in dominion and victory.

A healthy self esteem is when you see yourself as being capable of great things, worthy of love and all of God’s goodness, it reflects in your conversation, and how you think and speak about yourself.

There may be negativity around us but that doesn’t have to define who we are or hold us back. If God says “Go”, receive the faith and the strategy to go about doing His will for your life.

Living with a poor self-esteem is accepting less than what God has called you to be. It is living in mediocrity.

How can you turn things around positively in your esteem?

Accept who God says you are. He says you are beautifully and wonderfully made, make this your truth. Discover your gifts, develop them and showcase them. You are made for greatness.

Even if you suffer from a physical disability or limitation, know that you are not less than the one who appears whole.

The biggest limitations we have are not physical, they are in our minds.

We should not focus on our limitations for we have all we need within us to live amazing lives, surround yourself with positive people who will lift you up. We are influenced greatly by the voices we surround ourselves with.

Have friends that remind you of what God has put inside you, people who can build you up with their words. Let go of any negative influence and people that drag you down. Some relationships have to go for you to maintain a positive esteem. Identify those relationships and gently let them go.

While growing up, many were badly bruised by authority figures who became nay-sayers and as adults, they may still find those limiting voices coming up in their minds when they try to attempt great things.

Your internal struggles may not be visible since you always manage to put up a good appearance, renew your mind with the word of God. Know that you can turn things around through Christ that strengthens you!

Next, get to know yourself. Become intimate with your likes, dislikes, strengths and weakness. The same way we seek to know God and the people in our lives is the way we should pay attention to getting to know ourselves.

When you know yourself, you are better able to harness your internal resources to create the results you desire.

I pray for grace for you to overcome every limiting thought affecting your esteem in Jesus name.

In His Love,

You And Your Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is your assessment of yourself  relative to your surroundings and circumstances, a poor self esteem means judging yourself as less capable or valuable than you are.

A healthy self esteem is having a proper sense of personal worth and value, mental and emotional health is a big part of a healthy esteem. How healthy are you mentally and emotionally? A healthy self esteem is crucial to proper decision making, unlocking your destiny and fulfilling purpose.

God made you beautiful and He made you to be a reflection of His image. God declared that you are ‘good’ when He made you. Unfortunately, the environment, people or negative circumstances may sometimes make us feel less capable, resulting in a low self worth. Negative words spoken by authority figures, abuse or lack may have eroded your self- esteem but God is set to restore you.

In the Bible, God told Moses to send out men to spy the beautiful land of Canaan which He had promised them. Later on, we see how a low estimation of self reflected negatively in the report given by 10 out of the 12 spies. God had given His promise that the choice land of Canaan was theirs but because they didn’t see themselves as capable, they couldn’t act on God’s promise. We have all been there, where we think other people are better, smarter, more beautiful and more capable then we are.

When you have a low self-esteem, you find yourself comparing yourself often with others and unfortunately, you always come up short. A low estimation of yourself and your abilities indirectly points to a low estimation of the God inside of you also.

God is not small. Once you have God, you have everything you will ever need to become a success. God is bigger than your problems and challenges and you can access His power to overcome every difficulty.

When you are in an unpleasant situation, you have a choice to see either the good that will come of out it or focus on the bad. The Israelite spies in our earlier illustration chose to focus on the giants rather than the abundance and luxury they had seen.

If you want to know what your esteem is like, listen to your words, track any patterns of negativity in your conversations and your thoughts about yourself. The spies said to Moses “We were like grasshoppers in our own sight, just as we were in their sight”. When God gives you a command to go, you should go with boldness and assurance that you are able to overcome.

Thankfully, there were two men in that story, Joshua and Caleb, that had a different spirit. They saw themselves as able and capable. When we have low self esteem, it shows that we don’t have enough of the word of God inside us.

We need to have a revelation of God’s purpose for our creation then we can silence the voices of self-doubt and inadequacy. The Bible says “You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you” Make this your mantra when you feel inadequate; fear and timidity are signs of a low self esteem.

Accept yourself the way you are. Start by changing your attitude towards yourself. God did not make a failure when He made you.  You may have failed at something before, that is an event, not your identity.

You are a winner and I pray that you enjoy a healthy esteem going forward in Jesus name.

In His Love,
