The Attitude Of Gratitude

It is  important for us to take a pause and be grateful. There is so much to be grateful for if only we would think and take stock of what God has done in our lives.

Many times, situations & negative circumstances make us complain and moan about the hardships we face. In the world today, the grumbling and hardship aren’t limited to particular countries anymore, there is something to grumble about everywhere.

Wherever you live right now, there will most likely be things in your environment that leave you less than satisfied. Stop for a moment and think about the good in your life and the good things around you.

Think about the possibility of things being better than they are right now and be thankful for the opportunities that the problems have created for you to rise up as a problem solver and change maker.

Gratitude is important not only because God said so but also because it does a lot to improve our mindset. When we are grateful, we think positive thoughts of hope and endless possibilities.

27 (5)

When you are positive in your mindset, you are happier and your outlook is better. Philippians 4:8 says we should think of things that are true, lovely and of good report and the peace of God will guard our hearts. God’s peace is His assurance that all will indeed be well with us.

Gratitude is a function of our faith in God and of His promise to never leave or forsake us.

Believe God and His word, maintain an attitude of gratitude and you will experience His wonders.

Find Your Passion

Passion is important and necessary if you must succeed at whatever you set your heart to in life. When you have passion concerning your purpose, you put in your best and you are able to produce outstanding results.

Many people go through life without any specific purpose, they’re just going through the motions & ‘fulfilling all righteousness’. There is no motivation or spark of inspiration in what they do. They put in just enough effort to get by because they aren’t passionate about it.

24 (2)
Find what you are passionate about and go after it. Passion keeps you going, it fuels your enthusiasm and keeps you on the cutting edge, eager to produce results.

You may currently be on a job/career path you aren’t really passionate about, but you need the job so as to pay your bills, don’t give up on what makes you happy, discover and make time for it, even if on a part time basis.

It could be a hobby or a vocation. When you are done with your day job, invest time and resources into it. When you do that consistently over time, it will grow and maybe one day you might be able to leave the job and focus on your passion as a source of income.

Life should not be lived in misery and sadness. Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly, If you find yourself feeling hopeless and despondent, it may be that you have nothing in your life that sparks your passion.

25 (2)
There is a lot to be excited about, think about the people that brighten your day, think about colleagues that make you laugh. Family, friends and the people we are privileged to have in our lives are enough reasons to be joyful.

Be passionate about loving these people and giving back, life is about giving and loving. Show some love to someone today, expressing love to others sparks a passion for life in us.

When you find and express your passion you are more joyful and fulfilled. I pray for grace for you to find expression for the things you are passionate about in Jesus name.

Built To Last

A woman in the Bible named Rebecca was troubled about the state of her pregnancy and sought to know why it was so. In Genesis 25:23, “The LORD said to her, “Two nations are in your womb. You are about to birth greatness”

Let me tell you too that God is about to birth great things in and through you, this birthing process may be why your experiences appear so difficult.

22 (2)

In building construction, the higher a building will rise, the deeper the foundation must go. When the foundations are being built the workmen are hardly visible and it often looks as if the building has been abandoned.

A structure that is built to last must go through different tests for it to be certified fit for use. As believers, discomfort, pain & rejection should bring us to the place of prayer where we can cry to the Lord for help.

You may feel as though God is far away and has left you without help, truth is God is ever present with you & has never left you! Isaiah 54:7 says “For a brief moment I abandoned you but with deep compassion I will bring you back!”

‘Dark days’ are only temporary and should help us learn by experience how to be a comfort to others in the future. God comforts us in all our afflictions and expects us to extend this same comfort to others in need of it.

23 (2)

It is therefore not about what we are going through now but who is in it with us! God loves you deeply and shares your pains and tribulations. Whatever you may be going through now, be strong and patient, it will eventually turn out for your good.

Don’t rush into making some unwise decisions in a bid to quicken the process, trials build our capacity for faith, endurance and other Godly virtues.

I pray for you to receive grace to persevere and emerge victorious in Jesus name.

Be Yourself

You have got to be true to yourself; you are unique and cannot be like anyone else. As much as we love or admire them, you cannot be like your spouse, your parents or your mentors. You are you.

Know that no matter how hard you try, you cannot please everybody. Be kind, love others, be considerate but also be yourself, be real. Be authentic; define who you are and the values you stand for, don’t be afraid to let the real you show.

29 (2)

Don’t short-change yourself by believing that you have to be a certain way to be accepted by others, people want the real you. One of the most dangerous things to do on the journey to discovering yourself is to compare yourself with others.

If you would compare at all, compare yourself to you. Compare yourself to your past records to assess how well you are doing on your goals.

The Bible in 2 Corinthians 10:12 says those who compare themselves with others are not wise. You shouldn’t use another person’s journey as the standard by which you measure your progress, you will always seem to come up short.

Get over your insecurities, there is absolutely nothing to be insecure about, you are wonderfully made by God and He didn’t make a mistake when he made you, He saw you and called you good, worthy of His love and grace.

You may have some areas you would like to work on and we all do, no one is perfect. There is nothing to be ashamed about. Know your weaknesses and work on them, know your strengths also and so you can celebrate and highlight them.

30

Know that the truest things about you are the things God has said about you, be secure in God’s love. Spend time with alone, reflecting on your gifts and uniqueness, be comfortable with your own company.

Make friends who build you up and validate you, distance yourself from those who make you feel less than when you are around them. Choosing your associations wisely is one of the ways you can love yourself.

In the Bible, David had a mutually beneficial covenant relationship with Jonathan, they supported each other. Find friends that accept you and support your dreams in any way they can.

Receive grace to discover and express yourself in Jesus name.

What Do You See?

Your vision for yourself will ultimately become your reality, what you see is what you become. So, what do you see?

No matter the trials or challenges you face, push through it by God’s grace! Like the prophet Jeremiah in the Bible, we are prepared for our purpose from the moment we were conceived.

Stop describing yourself by your physical composition or limitations; call yourself what God has called you. When you begin to see yourself as what God has called you, speak it out, let your words agree with the revelation you have.

28 (3)

The word of God is powerful & transformative but your mental picture has to align with it for you to walk in its reality, our mindset and what we see internally is very key, it produces the realities we see in our lives.

What you see constantly, you become. You don’t have to struggle, it is a principle. Once you get revelation & a picture of your desired future, hold on to it. Even if you waver in faith sometimes, hold on to it!

Displace every negative picture with the word of God, don’t be discouraged, if you believe and hold on in faith, the word of God will replicate itself in your life.

Abraham, the Father of faith had his doubts too but He was reassured by God and eventually got the fulfillment of the promise. God asked Jeremiah, “What do you see?” because He needed him to see the right things so that He could take him to new level

You have to keep the word of God before you constantly, meditating on His promises to see its manifestation, the enemy tries to discourage and distract us from meditating & envisioning our future in God but we have to be mindful.

27 (3)

Circumstances may arise that makes us doubt God’s promise, don’t stay in doubt, bring back the picture of your revelation! The woman with the ‘issue of blood’ in the Bible envisioned herself as healed, she reached out in faith and was healed.

Prayer clarifies your revelation and keeps you connected to the source of the vision – God. As parents or custodians of young people, we need to be there for them and help them become grounded them in the Word of God.

God made us in His image and gave us dominion. Your dominion is dependent on the image you hold on your heart. This season, align your mental picture with God’s design, you will begin to live an amazing life.

Ask God to give you an accurate picture of your future, let it be stamped clearly on your heart. I pray for an enlarged vision for you and grace to walk in the reality of God’s promises to you.

Love, Not Judgement..

The world today is filled with so much harshness and judgment. Many live in fear of saying the wrong thing or making the wrong move. Most people would rather keep silent with their issues or weaknesses than risk being judged or criticized harshly.

In the Bible (John 8:8), Jesus came to the rescue of a woman facing harsh judgment, this could have been anybody male or female. Some men brought this woman before Jesus, ready to stone her to death after she was caught in adultery.

27 (2)

They wanted to know what Jesus thought should be done to her. The law gave the punishment for adultery as stoning to death and they were hoping he would say something they would be able to use against him.

If He agreed to stoning her, He would have gone against His own message of love and forgiveness.. If he said to release her, He would be guilty of condoning adultery and going against the law, a treasonable offence.

Jesus, knowing the bad intent of their hearts paused for a little while possibly thinking of how to handle the situation. Like Jesus, pause and think when faced with knotty issues so you can speak words of favor and judge aright.

Jesus eventually looked up at the crowd and declared that he who was without sin among them should throw the first stone, he didn’t pass judgment on anyone rather he confronted the mob with the reality of their own weaknesses & humanity

In a nutshell, he told them that no one is perfect and everyone is a candidate to receive mercy both from God and men! Strangely enough, she was caught in the act of adultery yet the man involved had somehow escaped.

One by one the mob dispersed as each person realized that they weren’t perfect either. Because of Jesus’ wisdom and kindness, the woman received a second chance to make things right in her life.

Are you living under the weight of condemnation from past mistakes? Run to God, confess your sins, repent and receive the grace to start afresh.

28 (2)

Your life doesn’t have to end because you have made mistakes, we all have! God’s grace and mercy is available for you if you come to Him. He loves you and does not condemn you.

When you have received mercy and kindness, be merciful and kind unto others also, don’t be like the servant who received the mercy of his master but refused to show mercy to a fellow servant afterwards.

Let us reach out to others with hearts filled with compassion and love. Don’t be quick to pass judgment on others, rather give them the benefit of doubt and show them mercy.
Your act of love and mercy might be the saving grace for someone on the brink of despair.

May our hearts be filled with love and compassion for the hurting now more than ever before in Jesus name.
